Statement of Intent
Religious Education at Parkside aims to provoke challenging questions about meaning and purpose in life, beliefs about God, issues of right and wrong and what it means to belong to a faith. We want our pupils to realise the importance of beliefs in the lives of believers, so that their own personal, spiritual and moral development will be developed. We aim to encourage attitudes of openness, sensitivity and tolerance towards people, recognising the diversity which exists within and between communities and beliefs and customs that may be different to their own. We want children to develop skills in describing, analysis, appraisal, explanation and appreciation when investigating world religions.
