Learning at home is an essential part of good education. Homework is a key aspect of creating a positive relationship between home and school. It offers children the opportunity to become confident, independent learners and to practise and apply skills learned in the classroom; thereby increasing knowledge and understanding.
Homework also offers an important opportunity for parents to work in partnership with school to support their child's learning and for children to explain and discuss their learning. Regular homework is important as it gives pupils the opportunity to practise at home tasks done in class, to undertake more detailed research and to further develop specific skills. The foundations of effective homework practices are established early in a child’s education and develop progressively across the key stages to support effective transition to the secondary phase
Homework will continue to be sent home every Friday to be brought back on the following Wednesday. Please make sure your child completes their homework with support where needed as it supports the progression in their learning.
