What is FISH?
The Families Information Service Hub is known as FISH. Its role is to offer free, impartial information for children and young people, parents and carers and professionals who have a role in supporting families. FISH is a 'one-stop-shop' where you can get details of services in the East Riding for children and young people aged 0-20 years.
What can FISH do for me?
FISH can provide information on:
- childcare – childminders, day nurseries and pre-school and out of school clubs;
- help with the cost of childcare – tax credits, employer vouchers;
- choosing schools – help with finding the right school for your child;
- children’s centres – where they are and what they offer;
- holiday activities – out of school clubs and play schemes;
- support - for parents and carers of children with special needs;
- look Ahead – a confidential information and support service for parents and carers of children and young people with additional needs;
- parent partnership service - the parent partnership service provides impartial, confidential information, advice and support to parent carers of children aged 0-20 with special educational needs who live in the East Riding;
- services for families – finance, leisure, libraries, sport and play activities.
